Pilates Mat Teacher Training

Discover freedom through alignment with Maeva Movement's Pilates Mat Teacher Training Program. Developed by master trainer, Laurel Desmarais, this program utilizes the Pilates repertoire to develop refined movement skills with a holistic approach.  

 

Pilates is a system of exercises designed to encourage whole body health by integrating the mind, body and spirit through breath and awareness and embodiment. 

 

Pilates Mat an accessible way to incorporate Pilates into any lifestyle and has been proven to reduce injury, improve performance and promote a joyful movement experience.

 

The Maeva Movement Program provides an extensive education in contemporary Pilates Mat to utilize in a variety of settings. 

 

It also satisfies a segment of our Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program that we offer (see below).

Program consists of:

  •  Pilates Mat Workbook 

  • 32 hours of in-studio lecture & discussion

  • 5 hours of observation

  • 10 hours of self practice

  • Take home written exam & one on one practical exam

​

4 Saturday Sessions 9-5pm

February 5 & 19 March 11 & 26

Graduates will be qualified to teach the full Pilates mat repertoire

Maeva Movement Comprehensive Pilates

Teacher Training

​

Maeva Movement Pilates Teacher Training is a 450-hour program, which includes full apparatus and mat training and fulfills PMA Certification requirements. Maeva Movement Pilates focuses on the foundational movement skills developed through contemporary Pilates. The Comprehensive Pilates Training Program Includes:
 

  • Pilates Exercise Training including Classical and Contemporary Exercises

  • Comprehensive Manual

  • Program Design

  • Becoming an Educator

  • Guidelines and Modifications for working with Special Populations (injuries pre/post natal)

  • Equipment Safety and Matinance

  • Written and Practical Exam

The course breakdown is as follows:

  • 150 Hours Lecture (includes anatomy, Mat work and-Reformer, Chair, Cadillac, Barrels and props)

  • 150 hours Apprentice Teaching

  • 75 hours Self-Practice

  • 75 hours Observation

  • Final Tests- written and practical (once all hours have been completed)


Trainees will have access to the studio for Observation, Self-Practice and Apprentice hours.
You will also receive a discount on classes and Individual sessions while in training.

Prerequisite: We require all Trainees to complete a minimum of 10 Individual Sessions of Pre-Training with a Certified Maeva Movement Pilates Teacher prior to the start of Teacher Training.
